When Christopher was born, his parents had no idea what was wrong with their son. nothing was apparently wrong with him until he got older, avoiding people, rarely learning as fast as other children of his age. They were frustrated, because they were teachers and their own child wouldn't learn. During these years Asperger's Syndrome was not diagnosed until 1944, and by then he was far away from them, but that is another section.

Chris tried to make his parents proud of him, tried to focus on his school work, tried to make friends...but he was just not good enough in his own mind. He was constantly picked on, bullies finding him an easy target. Chris would try to fight, but found the perfect revenge was to get into their lockers and unleash pranks on them.

That began his incredibly good pick-locking skills and his ability to crack codes with ease.

When he was caught getting into the school's money safe, he was immediately expelled, serving one year in juvenile hall. Chris was only fourteen years old. When he was released, his parents took him and moved to Mercury City to start a new life.

Highschool wasn't any different from the other, and he went through years of torment trying to make his parents happy. They couldn't understand what was wrong with him. Eventually they gave up on him, practically ignored his very existence. They continued to teach other students who could learn, who would try, in their eyes.

Christopher had been learning though, he understood everything. He just couldn't work it out the way he should. His mind always ended up focusing on the nearest object to grab. The next lunch bag to snatch.

Eventually he made one friend in his Sophomore year, who was called "Dobrey". They seemed to hit it off well, surprisingly. Dobrey was a new kid. From Canada. Naturally Chris was interested, but it took him a good while to strike a conversation with the Canadian.

Ever since then they have been best friends. However, after Chris' Junior year, he finally decided to drop school. He no longer felt like it was important, not that he ever did, and left his parents as well. They didn't seem bothered by it at all, but gave him nothing but his clothes.

Chris then began living on the streets, stealing what he could get until he could afford a cheap, dirty apartment. Even though he was a petty thief, when he ran into a gang of crooks his life changed, but not for the good. They took him under their wing, teaching him more of the ropes. Like getting into people's houses.

Or cracking a bank vault.

However, most of these skills he has not used yet - aside from pick locking Dobery's house to get away from it all on some nights. Chris is in over his head, though. The gang wants him to help them in a bank robbery in the near future. He knows if he says no, they'll kill him. He only has his one friend to turn to for help.

He also has no idea how close he resembles one Emmerich Stockholm, and has no idea how much that will change his future.

The word mutation has existed for centuries, coming into the verbal world to identify things of difference. Things that stood out due to change. The frog born with an extra set of legs, the two headed turtle. Botanists have marveled as plants mutated, growing nearer toward perfection with every blossom of a new generation. Sadly, though, the same adoration did not occur for the human race.

People have been mutating as well, along with plants and animals. Small changes that made them different from the rest of the world. An extra finger here, purple eyes there, strangely colored hair. At first, it was nothing surprising. Then more shocking mutations occurred, ones that needed to be hidden. Soon people were forced themselves into hiding, the world and humanity doing as it always did, fearing the unknown and the different.

But this past year, something has changed. Instead of one mutated human in a hundred thousand, the ratio has increased exponentially, first to one in every ten thousand, now it is close to one out of every hundred human beings. The mutations are also no longer simple. Suddenly these ‘mutants’ have powers, powers that make them superior to their human counterparts. Powers that cause fear to spread like the plague.

One man has known about mutation for most of his life. As he grew and learned more, he found another man with similar knowledge. Together they created a dream of mutants living freely among the human world, no longer scared or ashamed to show off their genetic uniqueness. Equality was the only thing that they quibbled over, one thinking that mutants should not be scared or even equal, but the superior of their human counterparts, the other saying that equality was the only way to go. An argument of epic proportions took place, and one man left, the other remained.

His name was Charles Xavier, and he vowed to see his dream succeed. As the news reports spread and the violence grew, he knew that the time for action was then, and as such he put his plan into place. Using new technology that had been created by the help of his now enemy, Charles located a handful of young mutants and welcomed them into his home, promising to help them with their powers and to continue their education. Sharing with them his dream of the future.

The X-mansion is still largely empty, the paint on the newly built classrooms and dormitories fresh. The danger room has yet to be imagined and Cerebro is mostly an unseemly object in an unfinished basement, awaiting the time that it can be perfected. Come join us to discover this beginning. Come to the time when Mutants were just becoming common knowledge and hatred for those ‘Muties’ ran unchecked. It is a whole knew world out there, with many adventures to be had, in the end the possibilities are Endless.
